   Dr. Alexander BERIOZKO graduated from Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) in 1987. In 1987-1992 he worked as engineer, senior engineer at MAI. Since 1992 he has worked as senior researcher and head of geoinformation systems (GIS) and technologies laboratory at Institute of Physics of the Earth of Russian Academy of Sciences (IPE RAS). In 1997 he obtained PhD. in computer technology from IPE RAS. He was a visiting professor at Institute of Physics of the Earth in Paris (Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris (IPGP)) in 1998-2000. In 1995-1996 he was the trainer of UNESCO/UNIDO/British Council Pilot Training Course for CIS and East European countries. He worked as a telematics engineer in the EC FP4 TAP project STACCIS (1996-1999) and the EC FP5 IST project WISTCIS (2000-2003). In 2001-2003 he managed the EC FP5 IST project TELEBALT. Since 2004 he manages the EC FP6 IST project IST4Balt. He is the author of more than 40 publications in aerospace engineering, GIS applications to geophysical studies and computer technologies.
