Arnis Gulbis Short CV Arnis Gulbis is Associate Professor at Riga Technical University. He graduated in 1974 as a physicist from the University of Latvia. In time period 1974 – 1987 he has been employed as a scientific researcher at the Institute of Physics of Latvian Academy of Sciences. In 1982 he obtained his doctor degree in solid-state physics. From 1987 till now he is employed at the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications of Riga Technical University. He has been involved in the development of a series of projects: Development of methodology for unified account of statistical data on ICT usage (state ordered investigation), Baltic States Government's Data Transmission Network, A Unified Information System for Latvia's Libraries, Information Technology System of Municipal Social Assistance Service (Phare Project) and Concept of Unified Information System for Latvia's Interior Ministry. His main current research activities are in the field of Information Society characterising indicators, the consequences of the ICT and the methodological issues on IS research. He has been involved in the SIBIS project on Statistical Indicators Benchmarking the Information Society (5th FP IST project) and EPRI –start project (6th FP IST project). He has been involved in the eUser – Evidence Based Support and Delivery of User-Centered Online Public Services and eInclusion@EU projects as national correspondent. His recent publications are in the field of Information Society development. |
